On August 25, the tennis player leaned into a maximalist style moment while playing a match in a naked dress and over 83 carats worth of statement diamond jewelry.Sabalenka—who was paired with Novak Djokovic for a Fan Week doubles game—turned heads in a see-through black Nike minidress that was made out of netting. The Belarusian star, who is currently ranked number one in the world for singles, layered the sheer sleeveless piece with a bright orange scoop-neck sports bra and matching form-fitting athletic shorts underneath. She added a pop of neutral color with a pair of white tennis shoes. While hitting serves and scoring points at USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, Sabalenka showed off a dazzling tribute to New York City that looked worthy of an A-list red carpet. She collaborated with the jewelry brand Material Good, which has bejeweled her for every Grand Slam moment since she competed during last year's U.S. Open, to create a collection that was inspired by the Big Apple's reputation as a melting pot of different cultures. In an interview with Town and Country Magazine, the brand's head of design Atara Lev revealed that the pieces were inspired by "lots of different people from lots of different places all over the world," explaining, "The stones are reflective of that. It's multiple different shapes, multiple different colors, and they're sourced from all different locations in the world."Material Good was tasked with creating jewelry styles that would deliver a "wow" moment while still complementing her retro "basketball-inspired" Nike outfit— and they delivered with her "boldest" look yet.Sabalenka wore her blonde highlighted hair in a messy bun, showing off a pair of dangling gold earrings set with multi-colored stones that were sourced from destinations like Nigeria, Tanzania, Cambodia, Burma, and Mozambique. While the tennis star didn't wear her 12-carat diamond engagement ring, she kept the bling going with a matching collar-style necklace and bracelet, as well as some daintier pieces, bringing the stones' total weight to 83.20 carats.
