Aryna Sabalenka has been beaten in yet another final as Mirra Andreeva claimed success in the women’s singles at Indian Wells.Sabalenka is waiting to return to the winner’s circle after also losing to Madison Keys in the Australian Open final back in January.The Belarussian did get retribution on Keys in the semi-final at Indian Wells but came up against an in-form Andreeva in the final.Despite winning the first set 6-2, the Russian came roaring back to win the next two 6-4, 6-3 and claim the title from the world number one.The youngster was clearly delighted to win and afterwards, Andreeva explained what she feels that her best surface is when it comes to tennis.It was a final that threw up everything and Sabalenka has shared that she’s already looking forward to meeting the player again this year.Photo by Robert Prange/Getty ImagesAryna Sabalenka thinks Mirra Andreeva has made a big mistakeSabalenka will have wanted this title badly but it’s not the first time she’s lost a big match and it probably won’t be the last.Defiantly, she’s warned Andreeva that she will be ready for her next time and concedes that the 17-year-old might have made a big mistake by beating her at Indian Wells.She said in her on-court interview: “Yeah, yeah, I want the rematch already. Maybe she made a big mistake right now, but it’s okay. I will let her enjoy the beautiful trophy.More Tennis News“No I’m kidding, I don’t want to talk like that. But of course, from the next match,h I’m going to go out and fight even more, and I will make sure that I didn’t make the same mistake I did today.”Sabalenka was asked whether Andreeva had surprised her at all – but that was quickly dismissed by the world’s number one ranked player.She continued: “She didn’t surprise me. Honestly, it was me against me. I mean, I made a lot of unforced errors on important points, and I just let her play a little bit better.“Yeah, at the beginning, everything was going straightforward, and then I just made a couple of mistakes. She kind of believed in herself. After that, I started playing much worse, and I was just trying to find my rhythm back but it didn’t work this time.”Andreeva can be major player at Grand Slam events in 2025The 17-year-old has the world on the end of her tennis racket these days and under the tutelage of Conchita Martinez, she can seriously go places.Andreeva has reached the semis at Roland Garros before and this year she will be wanting to go one better and make the final at the very least.Beating Sabalenka is no mean feat and this should give the youngster the confidence to go on and become a Grand Slam champion at some point.Winning Indian Wells was the biggest win of her very young career and now it’s very exciting to see where he career can go from here.
