Manchester United fans have hit out at "disrespectful" Ed Sheeran after he gatecrashed Ruben Amorim's first post-match interview.Amorim took charge of United for the first time on Sunday as his side drew 1-1 with Ipswich Town. Marcus Rashford gave the Red Devils an early lead after he tapped home a cross from Amad, who had made a marauding run down the right. However, Ipswich equalised through a stunning long-range strike from Omari Hutchinson and Andre Onana pulled out a pair of brilliant saves to deny the hosts another goal. And Sheeran, a boyhood Ipswich fan who recently bought a minority stake in the club, was delighted with the result. The musician interrupted Amorim's post-match interview on Sky Sports, greeting pundit Jamie Redknapp while the United boss was answering a question. Presenter Kelly Cates then asked Sheeran about Ipswich's performance and he replied: "I loved it, I love being back in the Premier League ".However, Amorim did not look impressed by Sheeran's arrival and United fans were not happy with his behaviour. "Don't care who he is, but think this was so rude and disrespectful. Couldn't just waited for the interview to finish," fumed one.A second wrote: "I personally know a few people who have worked with Ed Sheeran, some of whom even attended my wedding. While I know he’s happy, this behavior comes across as entitled and disrespectful. At the very least, wait until the interview is over."Another wrote: "Disrespectful. Interrupting an interview like that, lording it with the presenters just because you've sold a few records. Typical celeb, anywhere a camera is set up, their face ends up on it."Image: Sky Sports) Sky Sports)Before he was interrupted, Amorim admitted it will take time for him to make significant improvements at United. " It's a tough league. What you learn in the first moment, a good environment," Amorim said."I think my players were thinking too much during the game. You can feel it. It is a tough match. I think we lost some balls without pressure. When you start the game like this, you score one goal and then you have to control the ball, you have to control the tempo of the game. We cannot do it at the moment, but they tried, they really, really tried."I know for some guys it's hard to understand this but they are really, really trying and they want this. They want this. Sometimes they don't know how to get it, that was my feeling. We try to find things about the players, and we will need a lot of time to work out these things."Join our new WhatsApp community and receive your daily dose of Mirror Football content.
