Indonesia Wins 18 Medals in Taekwondo Poomsae Event at Asian Open Championships

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian athletes performed impressively in the Poomsae event of the 8th Asian Taekwondo Indonesia Open Championships 2026, winning a total of 18 medals over two days of competition, August 1-2, 2026, at the Tennis Indoor Senayan, Jakarta.

After the poomsae event concluded on Sunday, Indonesia had collected 7 gold medals, 4 silver medals, and 7 bronze medals.

On the first day, Indonesia won six gold medals. The titles were won by Supratino Djoko (Individual Male Over 65), Rhozy Muhammad Harfizh Fachriur (Individual Male Under 30), Harsono Daniel (Individual Male Under 50), A. Md. Ridwan (Individual Male Under 65), Rochmah IR. Siti (Individual Female Under 60), and the pair A.K. Nathania/A. Hannayaka in the Under-30 Pairs event.

In addition, Indonesia also won three silver medals through Vernando Joni (Individual Male Under 60), Yonathan Yonthathan (Individual Male Under 50), and Komara Kinara Abbabiel Leninda (Individual Female Under 30).

Meanwhile, three bronze medals on the first day were won by Widjaja Sudibio (Individual Male Over 65), Aisy Rohadatul (Individual Female Under 30), and the pair M. Anil/A.N.R. Nasution in the Freestyle Pair Over 17 event.

Entering the second day, Indonesia added another gold medal through Sultan Andi, who won the Freestyle Individual Male Over 17 event.

An additional silver medal was won by the Men's Team Under 30, while four bronze medals were won by the Women's Team Under 30: Cahya Kirana Mahiswari and Urelia Keisha in the Freestyle Individual Female Over 17 event, and Saputra Wawan in the Freestyle Individual Male Over 17 event.

The poomsae event officially concluded on August 2nd. The championship then continued with the Kyorugi event, which will take place from August 3-5, 2026, at the Tennis Indoor Senayan, Jakarta.
